Briefing
De Gemeente Den Haag wants to encourage residents to have their clothing repaired and to inform them about local repair options. The challenge: to stimulate behavioral change without sounding preachy. The Family developed the creative concept, UHU handled the production.
Approach
Two selected concepts take center stage: a piece of clothing getting snagged on a hockey fence, and a tear occurring while walking the dog. Both scenarios tap into relatable, slightly awkward situations that everyone recognizes. Which is precisely why they resonate.
The tone is cinematic and slightly exaggerated: slow motion, shockwaves, and crash zooms transform a minor mishap into a major, dramatic moment. The sobering realization that follows (it’s just a tear) makes the message both humorous and compelling. There are no grand statements about sustainability; instead, the focus is on that everyday moment when someone faces a choice: throw it away, or repair it?
We delivered two main films, supplemented by stills taken from the raw footage for a DOOH (digital out-of-home) campaign, as well as “clean” versions to ensure maximum flexibility in how they are used.
